Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Alberta individuals and groups in eligible locations for arts programs and projects. The purpose of this program is to promote literary, visual, and performing art created by local groups and artists. Applicants must describe how the proposed project will bring them to the next level of development and how the project will contribute to the cultural betterment of the community. Funding is intended to support applicants located in the city of Grand Prairie or the immediate area.

The fund is designed to

  • Support and encourage the development of local artists and groups involved in the arts
  • Support programs/projects which foster and promote the enjoyment of visual, literary and performing arts by local artists and groups that contribute to the cultural fabric of the community (e.g. exhibitions, displays, preservation of art)
  • Provide scholarships to developing artists to assist in taking them to the next level of development, expression or performance
  • Consider one time only, unique opportunities for capital development locally

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be based in the Community or immediate area.
- Demonstrated a level of achievement in their discipline.
- Demonstrate how will attain the next level of artistic development or
- Provide a statement of expected results
- Demonstrate how the applicant will come up with the remainder of the funding
- A current resume
- One application per project

NOTE: Major Project funding can only be received by a group or individual every other year.

Pre-Application Information:

Application Deadline: The first business day after January 1 of each year. Applications must be received on or before the application deadline or they cannot be considered. Committee sits approximately 1 month after the deadline.
