Grant Description
Grants of up to $95,000 to Iowa nonprofit organizations and government agencies to benefit local residents in eligible locations. Applicants must submit a letter of intent prior to submitting a full proposal. Priority is given to forward-looking projects that can impact the future of the community. Eligible proposals benefit the residents of Marshall County.

2024 Area of Impact – ALICE Household Assistance & Alleviation Initiatives: A strategic goal of CFMC is to grant at least 50% of grant-making funds to an area of impact.

Demographic: ALICE (Asset limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Households - earning more than the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to afford the basics where they live.

Relief Services: Food Assistance and Utility Assistance

ALICE Alleviation Initiatives: programs and initiatives that create opportunities for people experiencing financial insecurity to realize their full potential and rely less on assistance. 

Projects given priority:

  • Projects that will align with one or more of the 2024 areas of impact 
  • Projects that positively impact the future of Marshall County
  • Transformational and/or forward-looking projects
  • Projects that require just one-time funding

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Funding is available to non-profit, I.R.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, 170(b) units of government organizations or charitable organizations without the above designations through a qualified fiscal sponsor. Organizations must be in good standing with CFMC which includes completion of prior grant projects and submission of the related final report.

Pre-Proposal Conference
An online grant informational session will be held at 12:15 on Wednesday, October 25th. If you cannot attend a recording will be available on the Full Grant Text RFP link later that week.

- Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 12:15 p.m.: Live informational meeting
- Friday, October 27, 2023 – Recording of informational meeting available on website.
- Monday, November 27, 2023: Letter of Intent due by noon
- Wednesday, December 20, 2023: Applicants notified if they are invited to complete application
- Friday, January 26, 2024: Grant applicants due by noon
- March 26, 2024: Grant Award Ceremony

One letter of intent may be submitted per organization.
