Grants to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations for operational or program support to benefit underserved populations in the community. Eligible areas of focus are education, health, and human services. Special consideration is given to medical aid and medical research organizations, as well as to institutions of higher learning.

  • Education. The Foundation funds educational programs for all ages. To that end, funding can support academic access, enrichment and remedial programming for children, youth, adults and older adults that focuses on preparing individuals to achieve while in school and beyond.
  • Healthcare. The Foundation funds programming that improves access to primary care and health education initiatives for traditionally underserved individuals. In addition, the Foundation manages several foundations engaged in medical research.
  • Human services. The Foundation is committed to serving the community by supporting organizations meeting the basic needs of all individuals. Since the human service needs of communities are broad and evolving, a wide array of programming is funded. Efforts are focused on — but not limited to — youth development, violence prevention, workforce development, life skills attainment and food programs.

Grant requests for general operating support are strongly encouraged. Program support will also be considered. Small, program-related capital expenses may be included in general operating or program requests.
