Grants of up to $50,000 to Illinois faith-based, charitable, scientific, educational, and literary organizations for programs that benefit local residents. Funding is intended for activities within the focus areas of arts, culture, education, humanities, health, and human services. Preference will be given to organizations in the City of Quincy and its surrounding communities in Adams County. Grant funds may be used for programming, operating expenses, and capital projects. Capital projects must support the mission of the organization and/or the stated outcome of a program or project.

Estimated Size of Grant:

- Capital Grants: Up to $50,000
- Program/Operating Support Grants: Applicants with organizational budgets of $10 million or less may apply for grants of $10,000 up to $50,000. The yearly request may not be more than 30% of the program’s budget.

Term of Contract:

The majority of grants from the Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust are one year in duration.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational organizations may apply. Preference is given to organizations in Quincy, Illinois, and surrounding communities in Adams County.

In general, grant requests for individuals, endowment/capital campaigns or scholarships will not be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

The application deadline for the Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust is August 31. Applicants will be notified of the grant decisions no later than mid-December.

Organizations can submit one application per year and will not receive more than one award from the Trust in any given year. Any organizations receiving a multi-year award from the Trust that continues into the next grant year are not eligible to apply for an additional grant until the end of the grant cycle.
