Grants of up to $25,000 to Ohio nonprofit organizations for a range of programs and services that meet the needs of local residents. Program areas include environment, health, special populations, mental health, human services, education, faith-based activities, community improvement, and parent education. While the majority of funds support activities in Franklin County, special funds are designated for Logan, Fairfield, and Hocking Counties.

For the Fall Deadline (first Friday in October), proposals may be submitted for the following areas of focus:

Community Improvement:
- Historical Preservation
- Joseph A. Jeffrey Fund: supporting beautification and community improvement

- English Teachers in Private Preparatory Schools and Colleges/Universities

- Health Education
- In-service Education: for voluntary health organizations
- Substance Abuse

Social Services:
- Parent Education
- Summer Camp Maintenance

For the Spring Deadline (First Friday in May), proposals may be submitted for the following areas of focus:

Green Funds:
- Conservation and Environment

- Family Practice Medical Education: emphasis on geriatric medical education
- Mental Health
- Children's Mental Health

Special Populations:
- Development Disabilities
- Elderly

Outside of Franklin County:
- Mary Eleanor Morris Fund: Religious, Educational, and Charitable Programs in Logan County
- R. Alvin Stevenson Fund: Health and Human Services in Hocking and Fairfield Counties

Social Services:
- Character and Leadership Development for Youth

Special Populations:
- Hospice and End-of-Life Care

Operating support will only be considered when the applicant demonstrates continuous innovation that enhances services.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Applicants may apply for up to $25,000. However, the majority of the grants awarded will be $1,000 to $10,000.

Grants are made to nonprofit organizations.

A copy of your organization’s annual audit may be requested.

Pre-proposal Conference:

As a result of COVID-19 The Columbus Foundation is not able to host Grant Opportunity Open Houses at this time. Please check back in Fall 2020 for revised dates.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be submitted by the first Friday in May and first Friday in October.
