Grant Description

Grants of $3,000 to Nevada intermediate- or advanced-level artists and culture bearers to provide instruction in traditional and folk arts activities. Applicants must contact program staff prior to submitting an application. Funding may be used for transportation, materials, supplies, and artist fees. Eligible projects include apprenticeships, mentorships, and small group learning activities focused on folk and traditional arts practices.

Eligibility:

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The teaching (“master”) artist must demonstrate mastery of the artistic processes and associated cultural traditions that will be taught. Applicants must talk with Folklife Program staff before applying to ensure that their project is eligible in the category (folk and traditional arts) and must meet the following requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal permanent resident status
• Must be a current Nevada resident and have been in residence for at least one year prior to the date of the grant application
