Grants of up to $50,000 to Saskatchewan organizations in eligible locations for community programs and events. Applicants must contact program staff prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended for initiatives and activities that honor prominent people and commemorate important places and events in the City of Regina.

Major Special Event Grants provide funding support to events in the community that are:

  • One-time and first-time events that celebrate, preserve, and enhance Regina‚Äôs identity by commemorating notable people, places, and events, symbols and 10th, 20th, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th anniversaries or;
  • Local events that promote the values of citizenship and identity on Canada Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Remembrance Day, and Saint Jean Baptiste Day; or
  • Re-occurring events that have an established history of City of Regina service support (e.g. transit services).

Regina organizations are eligible to apply for community events.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications will be accepted prior to three deadline dates: January 31, March 31, and August 31, 2022. Applications must be received a minimum of three months prior to the event. All deadlines are dependent on available funds.

Applicants must first meet with a City of Regina Coordinator before receiving and submitting an application. The discussion with the Coordinator will determine if the organization meets the specific eligibility criteria, or if another community investment grant is more appropriate for potential funding.
