Grants to Seattle, Washington non-profits for educational opportunities that develop the potential of underachieving students, expand opportunities for cultural education for public school children, and bring the community to the public schools.

Term of Contract:

Grants are usually awarded for one year. Occasionally, the Foundation may invite renewal applications after evaluation of progress and review of plans for further work.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications are considered only from organizations ruled to be tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and that are not private foundations as defined in Section 509(a) of the Code, other than qualified private operating funds.

Grants, which redound to the benefit of the people of the City of Seattle, will be made to qualifying organizations. Occasionally, projects and programs elsewhere in King County may be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

To apply, e-mail the following items to grants@nesholmfoundation.org:

• A letter (minimum 12-point font and one-inch margins, and not more than two pages) signed by the Executive Director, including:
1. Brief description of the organization;
2. Short description of the project for which funding is sought;
3. Statement as to how the project relates to the Foundation Guidelines;
4. Statement explaining why this project is important.

• A completed Application Form (attached)

• A project budget, including expenses as well as all anticipated sources of revenue.
