Grants of up to $500 to local California K-8 schools that are seeking financial assistance for projects and events that are related to the study of science and/or the environment. Qualifying schools must be located in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, or Tulare Counties. Grant funds are to be applied toward the purchase of scientific supplies, equipment, or curriculum materials.

Awards will be made on the basis of the quality of the educational experience and alignment with the grantor's stated goals as proposed in the application. The Education Committee will review all applications received and determine the winners and the amount of each award.

Funds are intended to be used during the 2014-2015 school year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants applications may be submitted on behalf of a school by a teacher, administrator, parent club, or other affiliated person or organization for projects serving K-8 students (transitional kindergarten is excluded).

The Golden Empire Chapter does not accept applications for science fair materials, Camp KEEP tuition/transportation, or recycling bins/centers.
