Grants of up to $1,000 to Pennsylvania chapters of the funding source organizations to help conserve, protect and restore native brook trout within the State. Applicants must contact program staff to discuss projects prior to applying. An eligible project will be ready for implementation and may include, but is not limited to, the following activities:

-Stream habitat improvement projects
-Riparian buffer installation
-Education and outreach material
-Sampling equipment for stream monitoring and surveys
-Streambank stabilization
-Stream awareness events
-Assessment/Research projects

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

PA Trout Unlimited chapters must meet qualify as a Viable Chapter. In the last 2 years has your chapter completed the following:

-Organized and participated in at least one significant restoration, enhancement or conservation project.

-Have a newsletter and/or website in place for communication within the chapter or other source to communicate with members.

-Have regular meetings. At least 6 meetings per year, one being an annual meeting with elections.

-Organized and execute one or more public activity that focuses on coldwater conservation.

-Hold a yearly fundraiser.

-Attend PA Council Annual Fall Meeting.

-Actively solicit new members.

-File fiscal reports and CEI in a timely fashion.

-Submit quarterly reports to Council.

Pre-Application Information:

To apply for a grant, please take the following steps:

1) Contact the grant coordinator (Samantha Kutskel) to discuss the project and need for funding.

2) Complete the grant application.

3) Submit 1 copy to PA Council office address listed at the end of the application. Digital copies canbe sent to Applications should be submitted by December 19, 2014.
