Grant of $10,000 to an Ohio nonprofit for a project that benefits community women in eligible regions. Funding is intended to support existing projects or to create new projects that provide basic needs to children or adult women. Focus areas include health care, nutrition, and housing needs. Funding is intended to inspire philanthropy, volunteer work, and awareness of local needs among members of the community. Grant funds must benefit women and girls in West Chester and Liberty Townships.

Members of Power of the Purse contribute a $100 annual donation and together make a $10,000 grant each year to a local organization. The women of Power of the Purse work to educate and inspire others and promote philanthropy among community women.

The Power of the Purse Fund will consider requests that:
  • Make a difference among women in the community by promoting volunteerism and effective philanthropy through pooled resources
  • Encourage community
  • Educate and increase awareness of local needs
  • Encourage self-sufficiency and well-being among those in need
  • Build a network that is a catalyst for positive change

Eligible organizations must be registered 501c3 organizations, provide programming and services to residents in West Chester and Liberty Townships, and must focus primarily on meeting the basic needs of women and children in the community.

Application Deadline: April 3, 2020, by 11:59 PM EDT (Midnight)

The POP Membership will review all proposals at their May meeting. The top three organizations will be invited to attend the POP Summer Meeting to present their grant. The final grant recipient will be announced at the Annual Grant Gala in December.
