Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $25,000 to Florida nonprofit organizations for social change programs that benefit women and girls. Applicants must submit an LOI prior to applying. Funding is intended to support projects that address girls' and women’s empowerment and economic security, including policy work, advocacy campaigns, and educational programs. Currently, geographic areas for funding are limited to the United States. US organizations located outside of Florida must have a program or presence in Florida to be considered.

JWF’s shared vision is to promote economic, religious, social and political equality for women and girls throughout the state of Florida. To achieve that vision, JWF utilizes strategic, gender lens grantmaking to provide both project and general support to nonprofits whose mission reflects our own. JWF Trustees are committed to take risks to fund issues that other organizations do not address.

JWF will approve grants that are consistent with its mission, vision, and goals and are based in the Jewish values of tzedakah (righteous giving), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and gemilut chassadim (acts of loving kindness).

All proposals will be considered through the prism of a “gender lens.” Using a gender lens means understanding the unique challenges women and girls face pursuing equality and the ways in which systems, institutions, and policies must change to advance women’s equality. A project or program that includes or specifically targets women and girls is not necessarily designed using a gender lens.

JWF will only fund projects that address women and girls’ economic security and empowerment, which includes policy work, advocacy campaigns, and educational programs.

Examples of specific topics include:

  • Paid Leave
  • Affordable Childcare
  • Financial Literacy
  • Programs specifically designed to improve girls’ long-term earning potential
  • Social change employment programs

Grants are awarded for either project support or general support, but only feminist social change organizations are eligible to receive general support funding. JWF’s priority is to benefit Jewish women and girls, but funding is not limited to Jewish organizations.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

JWF will award grants and special allocations only to organizations that have IRS 501(c)3 tax designations or fiscal agents with IRS 501(c)3 tax designations.
