Grant Description
Awards of $1,000 and awards of $500 to California K-12 educators in eligible regions to recognize innovative curricula. The purpose of the program is to introduce fellow educators to outstanding projects for the classroom and to disseminate exceptional, creative teaching ideas throughout Ventura County.

Each year Ventura County educators, in grades K-12, submit innovative curriculum that is judged by a team of fellow educators and representatives from the business community. Top curriculum submissions are awarded funds to continue their innovative curriculum practices. The curriculum that has been selected for awards is then placed on the web to be shared with all educators.

The purpose of IMPACT II is to spread excellent teaching ideas throughout the county. Recognizing innovative teachers at the awards dinner is an opportunity to celebrate the true heroes and heroines in local communities. Business leaders, teachers, and administrators are becoming aware of the program and are participating in unprecedented numbers.

IMPACT II puts cutting edge classroom projects into the mainstream, turning students on to learning. IMPACT II enables excellent teaching ideas to reach all teachers in the county, and raises community awareness of exemplary classroom practices. IMPACT II boosts teacher morale by recognizing innovative teaching.
