Fellowships of $3,500 to Virginia individual artists to support the pursuit of artistic excellence and honor creative achievements. Applications will be considered for work in the discipline of crafts. Artists will be evaluated on the consistent artistic quality of the work, professional activity and achievement, and the potential for career advancement.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Artists who are legal residents of Virginia
- Artists who plan to remain in Virginia resident during the grant period
- A legal resident possessing a valid Virginia driver’s license and/or pays income taxes in Virginia and/or is a registered Virginia voter
- Artists who are 18 years of age

Pre-Application Information:

Artists must submit completed applications online via the online grant portal by Tuesday, October 1, 2019, by 5 pm. The Commission does not accept application materials via facsimile, USPS or other electronic means, such as email.

Payment to the artist will be made by January 15, 2020.

Artists may receive only one fellowship from the Commission within any four-year period.
