Grants to Wisconsin nonprofit organizations and agencies for projects to improve the quality of life for local residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended for initiatives to meet organizational needs related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as well as the basic needs of beneficiaries. Eligible proposals serve the greater Kenosha area.

For 2021 grants from Unrestricted Funds, the Foundation wishes to:

  • Encourage proposals from organizations for programs that meet the basic needs of beneficiaries (areas identified in the Foundation’s 2020 Community Needs Assessment Survey – see http://www.kenoshafoundation.org/about-us/foundation-events/what-kenosha-needs-now-2020). Program examples include mental health support services, education-related needs including on-line access, housing /shelter assistance, and food/meal/voucher programs.
  • Also consider proposals from organizations to help them address needs that have emerged as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, such as the need for IT infrastructure, personal protection equipment, and other measures to improve the safety of the organization’s staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

The Foundation will also give priority consideration to:

  • Collaborative efforts, with two or more organizations jointly planning and delivering projects that offer creative solutions or ideas, and
  • Projects that use Foundation funds to leverage other funding sources.
