Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Minnesota nonprofits, governmental organizations, and schools for projects that improve the quality of life in Todd and Wadena Counties. Funded projects should fall in the areas of disaster relief, economic development, community service, environment, education, and youth.

The following factors will be considered in the evaluation of all funding requests:

- Potential benefit to area residents and the entire community;
- Level of community support for the program or project;
- Administrative capability of the organization to deliver quality service or program; and
- Results that are predictable and can be evaluated.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit groups and organizations that serve communities located within Todd-Wadena service territory are eligible. Todd-Wadena’s service territory includes a majority of the rural areas of Todd and Wadena counties along with portions of Becker, Cass, Douglas, Hubbard, Ottertail, and Morrison counties. Not eligible:
- Lobbying, political, and religious organizations
- Veteran, fraternal, and labor organizations
- Fund-raising dinners, raffles, and other events
- Individuals
- Large-scale capital fund campaigns
- National fund drives
- Advertising
- On-going operational expenses

Pre-Application Information:

The Trust board evaluates funding requests in accordance with Community Trust bylaws and policies, three times a year. Application deadlines are January 15, May 15, and September 15.

In each grant round, copies of submitted applications are sent to the Community Trust board members for review. The board meets about two weeks after the application deadline to select the grant recipients. Applicants are notified of the results within about one week.

Please note: Lower priority may be given to applications from organizations that have been awarded an Operation Round Up grant within the past 24 months.
