Request a Grant Writer

Scholarships of $1,000 and grants of $500 to Yolo County, California high school senior volunteers and nonprofit organizations in recognition of youth volunteering and to encourage local nonprofits to involve youth volunteers. The student will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support post-high school education, which can include vocational school, technical school, or college. Additionally, a $500 grant will be awarded to the agency sponsoring each student scholarship winner.

Requirements:
-Student volunteer must be a current high school senior residing in Yolo County
-Must have volunteered at least 60 hours with a recognized Yolo County nonprofit organization during the junior and/or senior year(s) of high school
-Demonstration of: leadership, commitment to public service, maturity, and reliability
-The contribution the Yolo County nonprofit organization makes to enhance the quality of life in Yolo County will be considered

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The student volunteer must be a current high school senior residing in Yolo County who has volunteered at least 60 hours with a recognized Yolo County non-profit organization during the junior and/or senior year(s) of high school.

Non-profits must submit a copy of the agency’s IRS determination letter in order for the application to be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due Friday, March 9, 2018.

The student and his/her sponsoring non-profit agency supervisor must complete separate YoYoSA applications.

Funding decisions will be announced by April 30th and YoYoSA awardees will be recognized at a reception hosted by Yolo Community Foundation.
