Grant Description
Grants to Ontario registered charities and qualified donees in eligible locations for programs and services to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Funding is intended for projects in a wide range of focus areas, including but not limited to education, bereavement, arts and culture, and the environment. Organizations must be based in the Pembroke, Petawawa, and surrounding area, and projects must benefit the residents of the Pembroke, Petawawa, and surrounding area.

The Pembroke Petawawa and District Community Foundation’s grant programs support and encourage the effectiveness of local charitable organizations in meeting their missions and improving the quality of life in the surrounding area. By providing investments that strengthen organizational infrastructure and leadership, this granting program:

  • Builds the capacity, stability, and sustainability of charitable organizations; and
  • Fosters the development of new or existing ideas, programs, services, and learning opportunities.

The PPDCF provides grants to fund projects in the following sectors.

  • Animal Welfare
  • Arts, Culture and Heritage
  • Bereavement
  • Children, Youth, and Families
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health, Wellness, and Research
  • Social Welfare (for economically disadvantaged groups.)

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility
- Grants are made only to organizations recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency as registered charities and qualified donees such as municipalities or school boards; however, an organization that does not have charitable status may apply in a formal partnership with a charitable organization if the non-charitable organization is helping the charity fulfill its mission and mandate.
- Applicants must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and effective management.
- Organizations must be based in the Pembroke, Petawawa, and surrounding area and projects must benefit the residents of the Pembroke, Petawawa and surrounding area.
- The applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the project through meaningful contributions of their own human and/or financial resources.

Ineligible
The PPDCF will not support grants for the following:
- Ongoing core operations (ie. permanent staff salaries)
- Fundraising events or campaigns
- Partisan political or religious activities
- Individuals
- Event Sponsorships
- Deficit reduction
- Equipment purchases for administrative purposes.

Pre-Application Information
The application must be received by the PPDCF no later than 5:00 pm, March 31, 2023. You will receive a confirmation email when your application is received. Applications received after the deadline, or incomplete applications, will be ineligible. You will not be contacted if your application is received after the deadline.

All applicants will be notified of the results by April 30th, 2023.

Estimated Size of Grant
Minimum $1,000 for general causes and minimum $1,000 in support of bereavement.

Term of Contract
Opportunities must be completed by 18-24 months.
