Grant Description
Grants of up to $5,000 to California schools and youth-serving organizations in eligible locations for educational enrichment projects. Funding is intended to support engaging learning experiences and projects that work to narrow the achievement gap. Eligible activities benefit children and youth in Berkeley.

This may include academic projects, as well as projects in a variety of fields, including the arts, physical education, health, environmental education, conflict resolution, and ethics. While many of IDJ’s funded projects take place in the schools, the board will consider worthwhile proposals from community groups working with youth outside of the schools. Fundable projects are engaging learning experiences for young people and their families during and after school. In Dulci Jubilo, Inc. encourages proposals for school-wide or community-wide projects.

The board will use the following criteria in evaluating proposals for funding:

  • Proposed project seeks to spark the love of learning in young people.
  • Proposed project demonstrates innovative and/or creative approaches to learning.
  • Proposed project supports efforts to enliven and improve the educational experience of all students.
