Grants to Texas nonprofit organizations in eligible counties for programs to benefit local residents. Focus areas include healthcare, community service, youth groups, schools, and agricultural research and education. Funding is primarily intended for programs in the counties of San Patricio, Refugio, Live Oak, Kleberg, Jim Wells, Bee, Aransas, and Nueces.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications will be considered only from nonprofit organizations that are currently recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that are public charities (in accordance with the provisions of the Tax Reform Act of 1969).

To be considered, the charity must be currently listed as a public charity that is “not a private foundation” by the IRS on its most current Cumulative List of 501(c)(3) organizations. Absent such a listing, the charity must provide as part of its application package a determination letter issued by the IRS within 90 days prior to the application date verifying such status.

Grants will not be made to an organization whose headquarters are located outside of the State of Texas. Grants will primarily be made to organizations in the counties of Nueces, Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Live Oak, Refugio, and San Patricio.

The Foundation will not make grants to any individual or governmental entity. The Foundation will not make grants for political or lobbying activities.

Pre-Application Information:

Grants will be accepted for the 2021 year between February 1, 2021, and May 1, 2021. To be considered in any year, the application must be received between February 1st and May 1st of that year.

Grant applications should be mailed via regular mail (United States Postal Service). All approved grants will be funded by June 30th.
