Grants of up to $3,000 to Wisconsin nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions in eligible locations for programs to prevent crime. Funding is intended for new and current programs and to increase community awareness. Due to the impact the COVID-19 crisis has had on community nonprofits, the Foundation is currently considering requests for operational support in addition to specific program needs. Eligible organizations are located in Brown County.

For a crime to occur, these three elements are necessary:

  • Desire to commit the crime
  • Ability to commit the crime
  • Opportunity to commit the crime

Successful crime prevention programs directly impact one of these three elements. The program or project must aim to reduce or eliminate at least one of the three elements noted above.

Programs that are typically funded:

  • Program or project support or equipment related directly to projects
  • Technology and equipment improvements to develop greater organizational efficiencies or capacity
  • Staff and board training and planning that enhance organizational capacity or develop greater organizational efficiencies
