Grant Description

Awards of $250 and $1,000 to Finney County, Kansas preK-12 teachers in both public and parochial schools who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to students. Strong candidates nurture their students inquisitive minds and prepare them for the challenges of the future.

The three award recipients each receive a $1,000 cash award and an Apple iPad. The three remaining finalists receive awards of $250 each.

Eligibility:

  • Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants are Early Childhood through twelfth grade certified teachers currently under contract and in good standing with the school and in the classroom in Bible Christian Academy, Garden City Public Schools, Holcomb Public Schools, St. Dominic or St. Mary Catholic Schools.

They can be either full- or part-time teachers, special education teachers, counselors or librarians.

Substitutes and certified support staff personnel, such as psychologists, social workers and others, are ineligible to participate.

Previous Crystal Apple recipients are also ineligible to participate.

Anyone has the opportunity to nominate a Finney County teacher.

You can then complete the form and send it to the Chamber via email, fax, mail, or by delivering it to the Chamber's offices.

The Nomination deadline is May 27, 2016.

The six finalists receive recognition at the CARE Crystal Apple Recognition Banquet on Thursday, November 17, 2016.
