Grants to North Carolina small arts and cultural nonprofits serving Winston-Salem and Forsyth County to support general operations and administrative costs. First-time applicants must confirm eligibility prior to applying. This program funds organizations that demonstrate organizational and artistic excellence.

Applications are invited from small arts organizations of all disciplines that meet high standards in the quality of their programs and services, level of community involvement, administrative capacity and fiscal responsibility.

Term of Contract:

The funding period is October 1, 2017 – September 30, 2018.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible Applicants:
-Organizations that produce arts and cultural programs for the Winston-Salem and Forsyth County community
-Organizations primary residence and/or service area must be in Forsyth County
-Organizations must have annual revenue of $150,000 and under or if over, receive permission from the Grant Program Manager to apply
-Organizations must be an Arts Council Member Organization with 501(c)3 or have an Arts Council Member Organization serve as their fiscal agent

Pre-proposal Conference:

An information session will be held in the Hanes Conference Room, Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, 251 N. Spruce St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101 on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM.

Pre-Application Information:

If you are a first time applicant please contact the Grant Program Manager (see contact details below) to verify your eligibility.

Applications and support materials must be received by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

Arts Council staff will conduct an administrative review of the submitted applications for completeness and compliance with requirements Arts Council staff will schedule a day of panel interviews with the applicant. Interviews will be approximately 30 minutes in length.

-Application Deadline: Tuesday, August 15, 2017 by 5:00 PM
-Panel Review & Interviews with applicants: September 5 - 15, 2017
-Board Final Approval: Wednesday, September 20, 2017
-Award Notification Meetings with applicants: October 1 - 15, 2017
