Award to a Canada female mathematician in recognition of outstanding research contributions to the field. The recipient must be a member of the Canadian mathematical community and must have the support of three colleagues.
The Prize is an Inuit soapstone sculpture. Each sculpture is different, granting the recipient a unique Canadian piece of art. As well, the recipient of the Krieger-Nelson Prize presents a plenary lecture at a CMS meeting.
