Awards to recognize Illinois individuals who are members of the funding source for developing and implementing programs, projects, activities, or events that promote parent involvement in children's reading. Nominees must demonstrate how their efforts have increased meaningful literacy partnerships among parents, children, and educators.

Pre-Application Information:

Self-nominations and nominations by others will be accepted. Please use the attached nomination form (see attached files below). Once nominations have been received, a request for materials will be sent to each nominee. The materials will be used to select the award winner, and they are limited to three pages in length. The materials will include one page describing the initiative (project, activities, program, etc.), and two letters of support from participants in the initiative (parents, children, community members, educators, administrators, IRC members, etc.).

The award winner will be recognized at the annual Illinois Reading Council Conference.
