Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $500 to Denton, Texas public and private schools for school-based projects that promote environmental learning. Funding is intended to support direct engagement activities for students in the areas of natural resource stewardship, campus improvements, and outdoor learning.

Project Categories include, but are not limited to, Water, Air Quality, Material Resource Management, Beautification, and Outdoor Learning.

Sample projects include outdoor learning centers, school murals, campus beautification, tree planting projects, butterfly gardens, vegetable/food gardens, rainwater collection, recycling education programs, and more.

Estimated Total Program Funding:

$3,000

Estimated Size of Grant:

Each applicant group may request up to $500 in grant funds per project.

Term of Contract:

All funding must be spent within 6 months of the date it is received (variances will be granted on a case-by-case basis).

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, groups must meet the following criteria:

- Applicant must be a public or private school in the City of Denton and/or Denton Independent School District;
- Projects must align with the Keep Denton Beautiful mission: “To engage our community in creating a clean and
beautiful Denton;”
- Applicant groups must have a plan for long-term sustainability of the project.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant application opens Aug. 1. Completed application and all supporting materials must be received by Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 at 5 p.m. CST.

Applications may be submitted online (via the form) or in hard copy at the KDB Office (address below).

Awarded groups will receive funds by no later than December 2019.

Awarded groups are welcome to schedule and attend a Project Implementation Training with a Keep Denton Beautiful staff member prior to starting their project.
