National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) South Central Region (SCR)

Grants of up to $2,000 to Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas individuals affiliated with libraries and other organizations providing health information to support professional development activities. The purpose of this program is to expand professional experience and knowledge in order to improve health information access to healthcare providers and consumers.
The mission of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) is to advance the progress of medicine and improve the public health by providing all U.S. health professionals with equal access to biomedical information and improving the public's access to information to enable them to make informed decisions about their health.
Funding will be provided to individuals interested in attending professional seminars, conferences, training sessions, and other continuing education opportunities in areas of health science librarianship, e-Science, data management, data curation, evidence based practice or related disciplines. Additionally, funding may be provided to regional MLA chapters or network member institutions to host a CE event, workshop or speaker.
Applications to attend MLA or the SCC/MLA Annual Meeting will only be considered for non-health science librarians.
This award is intended to cover the costs of professional development courses/conferences such as registration fees and travel expenses (airfare, hotel, per diem, etc.).

Funding opportunities are offered by the NNLM SCR to provide resources to libraries, community based organizations, public health professionals, health educators, faith-based agencies, and other information partners throughout the South Central Region of the United States.
-Network members in the South Central Region (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas) are eligible to apply.
-Regional MLA chapters AND Network member institutions are eligible for multiple awards in the same grant year to host a CE event.
-Individuals who live within the NNLM South Central Region (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas) and are affiliated with an NNLM SCR Network member institution are eligible to apply.
Network membership is free and open to institutions interested in providing health information. To apply for membership:

Continuous reviews will take place for this award. Applications must be submitted a minimum of 6 weeks in advance of the activity date. Applications will not be accepted after March 19, 2018, 5:00 PM CST.
Funding will be cost reimbursement.
