Grant Description
Grants to USA top-tier athletes in eligible sports disciplines to further their development, training, and career success. Funding is intended to support ranking athletes who have earned a college degree and are working toward reaching elite international competitions such as the World Championships or the Olympic Games. Eligibility is reserved for track or field athletes.

The USA Track & Field Foundation supports elite athletes as they strive to achieve their dream of competing in an Olympic Games, a World Championship, or other Team USA competition. The Foundation provides assistance to athletes that meet its grant application criteria (including income thresholds and performance standards).

Additional Eligibility Criteria
For an athlete to be considered, an athlete must:
- Be a USA citizen and eligible to represent the USA at all levels of international competition.
- Have renounced college eligibility and been declared a professional.
- Be training for the next World Championships or Olympic Games.

Please note:
1. A majority of grants will be awarded to athletes who rank "TOP 10 IN THE USA" in their event in either of the past two years and / or are a recent graduate that ranked “TOP 5 IN THE NCAA” standings.
2. A majority of the grants will be awarded to athletes who have achieved the IAAF world standard.
3. Financial need will be taken into account, but all athletes are encouraged to apply regardless of their income level.
4. Criteria may be modified by the USATF Foundation's Board of Directors.
Pre-Application Information
Elite athletes are asked to complete an application every year they would like to be considered for a grant. The suggested time frame for application submission is during the months of May or June each year. The deadline for submission is June 30th.

Award winners are notified directly of their grant award. Athletes correspond with USATF Foundation and receive their grant check in the mail.
