Grants to Northeast Ohio nonprofit organizations for innovative and creative programs and projects that benefit local children. LOIs must be submitted by December 1. Priority is given to creative educational programs for children; arts, cultural and science programs for children; and early childhood education programs.

Funding is provided for special projects, equipment that directly impacts children, capital campaigns, and endowment campaigns.

Term of Contract:

The funding source does make multi-year grants anywhere from 2 to 5 years depending on the size of the grant.

Note: Frequently, multi-year grants are made for capital projects and capital campaigns.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Hershey Foundation only makes grants to organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The Foundation does not make grants to individuals.

Pre-Application Information:


The Hershey Foundation meets twice a year to approve grants. Full grant proposals need to be submitted for review by the due date.

The next due date for LOIs is December 1, 2017.

LOIs Due: December 1, June 1
LOI Notifications: December 15, June 15
Full Proposals Due: January 15, July 15
Full Proposal Notifications: March, September

Upon review, the Foundation will determine if your request is a good match with the Foundation's funding priorities. You will receive notice by email. If there is an interest in funding your request, a link to submit a full proposal will be included in the email.
