Grants of up to $15,000 to North Dakota K-12 school districts, education associations, and career and technology centers for programs to enhance K-12 STEM education. Funding is intended to encourage the participation of industry and business partners to contribute to and participate in K-12 STEM education activities. Supported projects will innovate and integrate STEM methodologies into existing or new programming. Priority will be given to new applications.

Proposals must focus on one of the following:

  • Implementing or enhancing Engineering by Design or Project Lead the Way.
  • Infusing integrative STEM into existing curriculum through curriculum development, professional development or use of equipment.
  • Other innovative STEM programs, such as Professional Development for teachers or teacher externships.

Funds may be used for equipment, consumables, travel, and registration fees.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants awarded may not exceed $15,000.

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed, and all invoices dated no later than June 1, 2021.

Eligible Recipients:
- K-12 districts, Area Career and Technology Centers, and REAs and other activities directly impacting K-12 education.

Funds may not be used for purposes of supplanting state and local funds and thus cannot be used to fund existing programs; they may be used for enhancing existing programs.

Pre-Application Information:

Grants will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis. Subsequent applications will be reviewed on a continuing basis.

No applications approved after March 1, 2021.

Eligible recipients will be limited to one application for the biennium.

Dollar-for-dollar matching funds for grant recipients must come from Business and Industry partners.
