Grants of $500 to USA individual K-8 teachers for innovative lesson plans about energy or sustainability. Funding is intended for teachers to purchase classroom materials that will enhance their lessons on energy and sustainability. Lesson plans must be original and be created by only one teacher.

Grants are made to individuals planning to teach throughout the 2016-2017 school year.
Applicants must be employed full-time as a kindergarten through eighth grade teacher at an elementary school or middle school in the United States. Participating schools must appear in the National Center for Education Statistics database (available at https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/). Applicants must also intend to continue teaching throughout the 2016-2017 school year. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents of the United States.
