Grants to Kansas organizations to support programming for children and youth in eligible locations. Funding is intended for programs to take place before and after school. These programs should include a variety of activities, and applicants are encouraged to involve schools and volunteers. The funding is meant to benefit children and youth in the greater Manhattan area.
Plans should include an outline of how the program will be offered and carried out in a safe manner. Please include information about how the program will be different from previous years and the plans in place to make sure the program will be effective while ensuring that youth, staff, and volunteers are in a safe environment.
Proposals are accepted for activities likely to require ongoing support.
Proposers are encouraged to emphasize the use of volunteers and, where appropriate, the involvement of the schools.
If your organization received a YES! Fund grant in 2022, please remember that GMCF requires you to submit a final report to be eligible for additional grant funding.
Ineligible
Awards are not typically made to primarily support summer activities (especially summer-only proposals) – some overlap of the school year and subsequent summer activities may be supported.
Proposals should not focus on extending the curricular/teaching day for students (tutoring programs are not typically funded, although some elements of tutoring might be embedded in activity-based programs).
Pre-Application Information
The deadline to apply for a YES! Fund Grant is September 26, 2023.
