Grant Description
Grants to Texas students in grades 9-12 to develop robotics teams to participate in events and competitions. Funding is intended for event registration and fees, equipment, and technology components. The funding source is particularly interested in promoting the development of new teams and events in the state of Texas. Priorities include the inclusion of communities historically underrepresented and under-served in STEM, financial need, participation in activities that promote and expand robotics in the state of Texas, and teams located in areas where there is less of an established FIRST® presence.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants:
- Any FIRST team in Texas can apply.
- The person submitting the application should be an adult (not a team member) who is a primary contact for the Team.
- The person submitting the application will need to create a free Submittable account. All grant-related communications will be sent to the email address associated with your Submittable account.
- Do not use a student team member’s name or email address when creating a Submittable account, or submit an application under a pre-existing student team member’s account.
- Only one application per team may be submitted. Duplicate submissions will be deleted.
- All students must be between 9th – 12th grades and must be living in the state of Texas.

Non-allowance costs:
- Sales Tax, Computers, Travel, Food, and Lodging Costs

Pre-Application Information
FIRST® in Texas Grant Cycle: 2022-2023 Season
- August 31, 2022: Grant Application Opens

Round One:
- September 23rd: APPLICATIONS DUE for Round 1
- September 26th: Round 1 Application Reviews Begin
- September 30th: Round 1 Award Notifications are sent through Submittable! Make sure your email is sent to accept Submittable communications. Notifications can also be checked in Submittable.
- October 14th: Round 1 Forms are Due; any teams not turning in forms (i.e. Additional Submittable forms, W-9s, TWC Rosters & Extended Demographics, reimbursement requests, etc.) will be moved to Round 2 for processing
- October 28th: Round 1 Grant Funds are Processed; checks are in the mail, credits are sent to vendors, etc.

Round Two:
- October 21st: APPLICATIONS DUE for Round 2
- October 24th: Round 2 Application Reviews Begin
- October 28th: Round 2 Award Notifications are sent through Submittable! Make sure your email is sent to accept Submittable communications. Notifcations can also be checked in Submittable.
- November 11th: Round 2 Forms are Due; any teams not turning in forms (i.e. Additional Submittable forms, W-9s, TWC Rosters & Extended Demographics, reimbursement requests, etc.) will be moved to Round 3 for processing
- December 2nd: Round 2 Grant Funds are Processed; checks are in the mail, credits are sent to vendors, etc.

Round Three:
- November 18th: APPLICATIONS DUE for Round 3
- November 21st: Round 3 Application Reviews Begin
- November 28th: Round 3 Award Notifications are sent through Submittable! Make sure your email is sent to accept Submittable communications. Notifcations can also be checked in Submittable.
- December 19th: Round 3 Forms are Due; any teams not turning in forms (i.e. Additional Submittable forms, W-9s, TWC Rosters & Extended Demographics, reimbursement requests, etc.) will be processed on a monthly basis as received.
- January 6th: Round 3 Grant Funds are Processed; checks are in the mail, credits are sent to vendors, etc.

January Onward: Available grants will continue to be awarded as available; application remains open until the end of the school year if grants are still available.

FIRST® in Texas processes grant award checks, grant reimbursement checks, vendor credits, etc. on a monthly basis.
