Grants to Augusta, Georgia public school teachers to help fund cultural field trips that enhance student education. Funding may be used towards field trips to cultural and historic attractions, as well as theatrical performances. Eligible expenses transportation costs and admission fees. The goal of this program is to connect students to local educational opportunities.

The Junior League of Augusta Field Trip Fund is open to all Title 1 schools and provides funding towards busses, drivers and admission to CSRA museums, cultural/historic attractions and theatrical performances. The near-elimination of field trip and travel resources in public schools has caused a major reduction in field trips funded through the school system.

The JLA is excited to help meet a need. The JLA believes that field trips give students the freedom to explore, think differently outside the classroom and experience the great sense of adventure.

The amounts awarded will be determined based on the availability of funding.

Term of Contract:

The projects should be implemented during the coming school year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Fund is open to all Title 1 schools.

The Field Trip fund grant should be completed by interested teachers and not assigned or used as a college project or an assignment that will result in any type of credit, a grade, an evaluation or extra credit for a teacher.

If a teacher resigns or changes school systems, he/she will forfeit all grant monies.

Pre-Application Information:

To apply for a Field Trip fund grant, you must complete the official application and return it to the Junior League of Augusta by 5 p.m. August 1, 2018.

Teachers may submit more than one application. However, a teacher is eligible to receive only one grant per academic year.

A school may have more than one teacher submit an application.
