Grants of up to $500 to Michigan K-12 public and private schools for field trip transportation costs. Funding is intended for trips to arts and culture nonprofit organizations. The performance or destination must be chosen from a list of approved nonprofit organizations.

Every effort will be made to provide funding to applicants from counties across the state.

Criteria include:

  • Educational goals: Reviewers will look for clearly described educational goals that are related to content standards and/or specific learning outcomes.
  • Collaboration and implementation: Field trip preparation and follow-up should be clearly and specifically described. Factors to be considered include evidence of collaboration with the organization being visited.
  • Need: Reviewers will consider budgetary factors within the school or school district that affect funding for field trips. You may wish to provide evidence this trip fills a void in the school’s offerings. Special consideration will be given to underrepresented areas and communities with low access to the arts.
