Grant Description
Grants of up to $5,000 and grants of up to $50,000 to USA K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for environmental initiatives. Funding is intended for programs that promote environmental protection and natural habitat preservation, advance K-12 environmental education and stewardship, improve open spaces, and make nature more accessible. Funding is intended for short-term, specific projects that promise measurable results to improve the environment. Applicants must be located in Dominion Energy's services area in the following states: Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Grant requests from eligible organizations that focus on one or more of the following priorities will be considered:

  • Educating K-12 students and the public about environmental science
  • Protecting and preserving natural habitats
  • Improving open spaces and making nature accessible

Eligible organizations include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and public and private K-12 schools in communities served by Dominion Energy companies.

Ineligible
Foundation grant support is NOT available to:
- Tangible benefits, including utility payments to Dominion Energy or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates
- Individuals
- Religious programs of churches or other sectarian organizations
- Fraternal, political, advocacy or labor organizations
- Projects or organizations that are not located within geographic areas where Dominion Energy provides electricity or natural gas service, or has significant facilities or business interests
- Fund-raising events (dinners, lunches, etc.)
- Golf tournaments or other sporting events
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
- Organizations that limit membership and services based on race, religion, color, creed, sex, age or national origin
- Advertising for benefit or courtesy purposes
- Travel-related events, including student trips or tours
- Memorial campaigns

Nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for grants up to $50,000.

Public and private K-12 schools in eligible regions can also apply for classroom grants up to $5,000 for environmental education programs.
