Grants of up to $5,000 to New York community-based organizations for programs and projects that benefit residents in eligible communities. Funding is intended for the focus areas of community enrichment, historical preservation, reducing poverty, and arts and culture. Eligible projects are those that benefit residents of the Village of Brockport, Sweden, and Clarkson.
Projects must directly benefit their residents. Specifically:
Arts and culture grants must be used to support local groups that perform traditional and folk arts, not for the pop culture of the day.
Historical preservation grants may be used for physical restoration of buildings and for the maintenance of monuments, sculptures, and other historic items important to the community.
Poverty grants may be used to support programs that help lift people out of poverty.
Grants for community enrichment may include beautification to public areas.
