Grants to British Columbia registered charities in the funding source's service area for projects to benefit the local community. Project categories include arts and culture, education and literacy, the environment, health and community wellness, heritage and history, fish enhancement, youth, and seniors. Eligible applicants are located within School District #72’s (Campbell River and Area) boundaries.

The Foundation Funds Projects & Programs for:

  • Educational and Training Workshops
  • Equipment
  • Furniture
  • Computer labs
  • When a substantial portion of funding comes from other sources

The Foundation seeks to fund programs and projects that:

  • Provide a direct service to the community
  • Benefit a wide audience
  • Contribute to the betterment of the community
  • Strive to have a lasting impact on the community
  • Involve collaboration and partnerships
  • Build on existing community strengths and assets
  • Use resources efficiently and effectively
  • Leverage funds from other sources

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Your organization must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for grants from the Community Foundation:
- The organization must be located in the Community Foundation’s service area, which is within School District #72’s (Campbell River and Area) boundaries.
- The organization must be a BC registered Society. Those societies which are not registered charities under the Income tax Act must arrange to apply through an organization that is a registered charity, and which will accept the grant on their behalf. (A charity number must be included in the application)
- Provide a benefit to the citizens of the geographic area served by the Foundation.
- Applicants must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and effective management

Please note that your organization must be a not-for-profit entity and possess a Charitable Registration Number. Applications will not be accepted if they do not have a charity number or if it originates from an individual or for-profit organization.

The Foundation Does Not Fund Projects & Programs for:
- Individuals or Businesses
- Deficits or project expenses incurred prior to application or grant approval
- Fundraising Activities
- Endowment Grants
- Religious organizations or purposes
