Grants of $4,500 to a USA public library to expand or build up its romance fiction collection, as well as to fund romance fiction programs. Funding is intended to purchase romance fiction or for program expenses such as author honorariums, travel expenses, or others. Priority will be given to libraries with a financial need or in disaster recovery areas looking to rebuild their romance fiction collections.
The applying library must demonstrate a plan or examples for use of the funds, such as hosting a system-wide training day on the romance genre, buying romance novels for the library collection, creating readers' advisory materials on the genre and/or hosting romance fiction oriented programs. The library should show a desire to improve awareness of the romance genre in the library.

Only one public library shall receive this annual grant. No grant shall be given if applicants do not meet the grant criteria.
The grant will consist of $4,500 cash award from the Romance Writers of America.
