Awards to California and Nevada teachers and technology leaders for outstanding contributions to promoting the educational use of technology. Awards are available for online and blended educators, beginning teachers, school site leaders, technology leaders, and state and federal legislators.

More information on the awards categories are as follows:

Blended and Online Educator of the Year
Recognizes a teacher who has made a noteworthy contribution to learning in an online or blended setting. Supporting and engaging all students is the key element of this award. Nominees must be currently teaching either in an online or blended setting with K-12 students.

The award winner will receive complimentary registration to the 2018 BOLD Symposium and an invitation to the awards ceremony, May 5-6 in Laguna Beach.

Emerging Teacher of the Year
Recognizes a classroom teacher who is currently in the first seven years of their teaching career and has already made a noteworthy contribution to educational technology in a classroom setting. Using technology to support standards-based curriculum is a key element in this award. Award winner will become CUE's nominee for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Outstanding Young Educator Award, unless ineligible as per ISTE's requirements.

The award winner will receive complimentary CUE 2018 Spring Conference registration and an invitation to the awards ceremony in Palm Springs.

Site Leader of the Year
Recognizes a site leader (principal, assistant principal, librarian, counselor, curriculum coach, or site tech coach/TOSA) who has made a noteworthy contribution to promoting educational technology within his/her school. This award is presented to site leaders who demonstrated strong support for the belief that all students can excel academically, exceptional leadership in finding ways that technology benefits teaching and learning, a commitment to educational quality, student achievement, and commitment to professional growth, and creativity and innovation in building a learning environment that promotes ongoing risk-taking and exploration.

The award winner will receive complimentary CUE 2018 Spring Conference registration and an invitation to the awards ceremony in Palm Springs.

Technology Leader of the Year
Recognizes local, state, and national leaders in educational technology. Unless ineligible, award winner will become CUE's nominee for the ISTE Outstanding Leader Award.

Affiliate winners will receive complimentary CUE 2018 Spring Conference registration.

The overall CUE winner will receive complimentary CUE 2018 Spring Conference registration, an invitation to the awards ceremony in Palm Springs, and their name added to a plaque in CUE's Hall of Fame.

Legislator of the Year and Advocate of the Year
Legislator of the Year and Advocate of the Year Presented to members of the state and/or federal legislature or an individual who have made sustained and/or extraordinary efforts in promoting the educational use of technology to advance student achievement through the introduction of new legislation, the successful defense of funding, or the support of other education legislation that supports CUE's mission and membership.

The award winner(s) will receive complimentary CUE 2018 Spring Conference registration and an invitation to the awards ceremony in Palm Springs.

CUE membership is required for the awards of Platinum Disk, Gold Disk, Outstanding Teacher of the Year, and ISTE's Making IT Happen.
