Grants of up to $1,000 in cash and in-kind donations to Minnesota schools and youth-serving, community-based organizations for youth-led service or service-learning projects that address important oral health and/or general health issues in their communities. Funding is intended to encourage youth to focus on projects promoting education and action on preventable health issue(s).
Types of projects could include:
- Educating diverse communities about an oral health need for children or adolescents;
- Providing speakers, classes, and materials to help educate youth and adults about an oral health or health-related issue;
- Providing training that helps people connect the health gap to the existing opportunity gap and achievement gap; and
- Raising awareness and educating young people about nutritious eating habits and how to make healthy decisions about food.
