American Library Association (ALA) - Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT)
Awards of $1,000 and $500 travel stipends to USA libraries to acknowledge contributions to the development and augmentation of information literacy instruction. The awards are available to both academic and non-academic libraries. Preference will be shown for low-cost creative and practical programs (rather than scholarship) that can be duplicated in other locations.
The award will be given to a library that has done one (or more) of the following:
- Revamped its public instruction program in response to a new technology, an assessment report, etc.
- Initiated a public program that utilizes best practices of instruction in combination with new methods of delivery.
- Created an original type of instruction, e.g., team-taught interdisciplinary research sessions, a novel form of outreach, etc.
GrantWatch ID#: 166586
Award winners will receive a $1,000 cash award, a plaque, and a $500 travel stipend to be used to attend the ALA Conference.
The award is open to all types of libraries, academic and non-academic alike.
One member of the library nomination group needs to be a librarian.
Self-nominations are welcome.
The deadline for this year's award nominations is January 15, 2018. The award winner will be notified following the ALA Midwinter Conference, no later than February 15, 2018.
