Grants ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 to USA, Canada and International accredited researchers, medical facilities, research institutions, and patient service programs to address pediatric brain cancer issues, research, public education or patient services. Education and patient services is limited to the United States mid-Atlantic region.
Research proposals are accepted nationally and internationally.
The primary goal of the Foundation is to annually identify and target key areas in the field of children's brain cancer research and patient services that are presently under-funded. Grants are provided for:
1) Brain cancer research projects or studies that are designed to advance the treatment, cure, outcome, and etiology of pediatric brain cancer. The Foundation's particular interest is in the initial funding of projects that are likely to generate data that can be used in larger scale projects or studies. International applicants will also be considered for funding.
2) Patient services that are focused on making the lives of children with cancer and their families a little easier, with emphasis on pediatric brain cancer related requests. Preference is given to organizations in areas where the funds were raised, predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic region.
3) Educational tools that will raise the awareness of brain cancer and increase knowledge of patient treatment or options. Preference is given to organizations in areas where the funds were raised, predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic region.
