Grants to Florida nonprofits and individuals for architectural and cultural preservation projects in eligible communities. Funding is intended for preservation, rehabilitation, and restoration of historic properties, and other projects of historic or cultural significance. The Foundation awards Historic Preservation grants for projects in Key West that demonstrate historic architectural significance.

Selection Criteria:

  •  Historical significance of the project.
  •  The demonstrated need and urgency of the project.
  •  Probability of success of the project based on the proposed plans, schedule, and resources.
  •  Benefits of the project to Key West community and to the general public.
  •  Preference will be given to grant proposals containing project cost sharing between OIRF and the proposing organization.
  •  Preference will be given to proposals from individuals and organizations who establish their need for the funding.

Term of Contract:

The funding period is one year from the notification date.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility is limited to individuals and tax-exempt organizations in the City of Key West.

For-profit organizations are ineligible.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for receipt of applications is January 10, 2020.

Notification of intent or non-intent to fund will be by February 28, 2020.

Grant recipients will be acknowledged at the Annual Meeting in April 2020.
