Grant Description

Grants of up to $1,000 to Kansas organizations and groups for programs and activities that benefit youth in eligible locations. Priority funding is intended for projects that involve youth in the development and implementation process. Eligible proposals benefit young people in Reno County.

The Youth Philanthropy Council will offer grants for projects that (one or more):

  • Are created and/or directed by youth with appropriate organizational supervision.
  • Promote the healthy development of children and youth.
  • Introduce children and youth to the fine arts or support their participation in the arts.
  • Provide opportunities for youth to give back to the community through meaningful service.
  • Build positive relationships between youth and adults.
  • Have a realistic budget and solid plans.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Groups and organizations offering programs in Reno County beneficial to youth may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to apply is noon on Friday, January 13, 2023.

Applicants will be notified of the Youth Philanthropy Council’s decisions in late February 2023.

Council members will review each application and may ask to meet with representatives of the applicant organization, including youth representatives. Grant recipients will be invited to an award celebration on March 6, 2023.

Term of Contract:

Grant-funded activities are to be completed between March 5 and Oct. 31, 2023.
