Grants of up to $2,000 and grants of up to $5,000 to British Columbia individuals, nonprofit societies, groups, and arts and cultural organizations in eligible regions for programs that benefit the community. Funding is intended for organizations that serve local residents and for innovative events featuring local artists. Eligible activities take place in the City of White Rock.

Two types of grants are available.

General Community Grants-in-Aid:

  • The purpose of the Grant-In-Aid program is to distribute funds to community based organizations, which benefit the people of White Rock and increase civic pride and awareness.
  • The grant must be used to contribute to the general interest and advantage of the City of White Rock.

Arts and Culture Grants-in-Aid:

The City offers supplementary funding to support and develop new or expanded arts and culture events. The program is intended to encourage the development of event capacity, organization efficiency and best practices.

  • The Arts and Culture Project Grant provides funding to eligible organizations that initiate a new arts festival, celebration, or event in the community.
  • The intent of the grant is to provide seed money to support local artists, arts and culture organizations and to promote the spirit of celebration in White Rock.
  • The event must occur in the City of White Rock.
  • The event must showcase local area artists, be inclusive, accessible and welcoming to the public.
  • Preference will be given to new events that address gaps in the existing event calendar and have the potential to become major arts and culture events. A new event is defined as an event that has not previously existed and is occurring for the first time.
