Grant Description
Grants of up to $1,000 to Minnesota Native American artists in Becker, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, Itasca, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen, and Roseauall Counties for arts activities. Applicants can request an application review by calling program staff at least two weeks before the deadline.
This grant offers funding for costs associated with the exhibition, performance, or production of a creative work; purchase of materials or equipment necessary for a creative work; educational opportunities; mentorships; and proposals for career-enhancing projects or opportunities.
Eligible disciplines include painting, photography, beadwork, regalia, poetry, basketry, and music.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:
• 18 years or older
• Resident of Beltrami, Hubbard, Cass, Itasca, Lake of the Woods, Roseau, Becker, Mahnomen, or Clearwater County
• A resident in one of those nine counties for at least six months
• An enrolled tribal member or descendant of a federally recognized tribe

To request a thorough review of your application prior to submission, contact staff at least two weeks prior to the deadline. After that you may request staff assistance and they will provide feedback only as time allows.

Term of Contract
Grant Award Date: 04/04/16. Projects must start within one year of the grant award date and end no later than18 months from the grant award date. Final reports must be submitted within 45 calendar days of the project end date you have indicated in the application.
