Grant Description
Grants starting at $25,000 to USA nonprofits, K-12 schools and colleges or universities for student-led service learning projects to address issues of arts and culture, community safety and justice, economic empowerment and financial education, societal health and wellness issues, education and closing the achievement gap, and environmental responsibility.

Service-learning projects engage youth in grades K-12 in addressing community issues of problems. Eligible volunteer projects enhance academic curriculum experience, cultivate civic responsibility and civic engagement, empower youth, advance work performance and management skills, construct opportunities for student reflection, and offer students an interactive, high-quality, educational learning experience.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
All nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) or another tax-exempt portion of the IRS code are eligible for funding to the extent that they collaborate with and engage K-12 public school curriculum and achievement as part of the grant.

Eligible projects MUST be implemented in the 50 U.S. states. Additionally, all monetary benefits should stay in the U.S.

-Public K-12 schools and school districts
-Public charter schools
-Colleges and Universities
-Governmental organizations
-Other Nonprofit organizations

Pre-Application Information
Timeline:
-February 29: Applications open
-April 29, 11:59 PM EST: Submissions close
-May 2 through late August: YAB members review all grant applications
-Early September: Winners are notified, and grant funding is received

Estimated Size of Grant
$25,000 - $100,000

Term of Contract
Grants will be utilized during the 2016-2017 school year and summer, which is roughly from September 2016 to September 2017.
