Grants to Dallas County, Texas nonprofit organizations for a wide range of activities addressing the following areas: arts, animal welfare, older adults, low-income children, abused and neglected children, children with disabilities and mental handicaps, children with debilitating diseases such as diabetes or cancer, African-American residents, research related to Parkinson's disease, and critical needs defined as food, clothing, shelter, safety, and health.

Multi-year grants are generally not available.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation considers grant proposals from tax-exempt nonprofit organizations for a variety of charitable purposes.

Not Funded:
-Organizations that have received grants from Field of Interest or Unrestricted funds from the Foundation within the preceding three years
-Multi-year grants
-Annual fund campaigns, underwriting of fundraising events, and marketing campaigns
-Religious purposes (although we do support educational and social service programs offered by faith-based organizations)
-Organizations located outside Dallas County, unless at least 50 percent of the clients served are residents of Dallas County
-Debt retirement
-Start-up organizations

Pre-Application Information:

Field of Interest funds are offered in the spring. Letters of Inquiry to the Field of Interest Funds may be submitted between January 2 and February 15, 2019, at 5:00 PM CT.

To apply for a grant, start by creating an account through the grantmaking portal. Please click on "New Applicant" to create an account. You should receive an email confirming your account status. Once your account is confirmed, click the appropriate link below to submit an LOI.

The Foundation will review your Letter of Inquiry and, if selected, your organization will be invited to submit a full proposal.

Organizations are eligible to receive a competitive grant from The Dallas Foundation no more often than once every three years.
