Grants to Texas nonprofit organizations to address a wide range of community needs in eligible regions. Focus areas include basic needs, the arts, childhood diseases, child abuse and neglect, animals, wildlife conservation, and Parkinson's disease. Populations that benefit from these grants include low-income adults, disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, victims of abuse and violence, the elderly, people with breast cancer, and African American citizens. All Dallas Foundation competitively awarded grants go to agencies that serve Dallas County, unless otherwise noted.

Field of Interest Grants:

  • Jean Baptiste "Tad" Adoue, III Fund: Supports the arts in Dallas County. Grants from this fund tend to be for the performing and visual arts to honor the spirit of Mr. Adoue's gift. Grants for arts education are typically not considered.
  • Louis B. and Mary Ratliff Fund for Critical Needs: Helps provide basic necessities of life, including food, clothing, emergency and transitional shelter and medical care, to persons, particularly families, who are low-income, indigent, homeless or ill
  • Darwin and June Hodges Fund: Helps faith-based organizations providing assistance to disadvantaged children with food, clothing, shelter or healthcare needs
  • Annie L. Stevens Fund: Assists low-income older adults or disabled, abused, neglected or economically disadvantaged children
  • Dale and Barbara Reed Fund for Abused Children: Assists abused children in Collin County (Nonprofit agencies applying for funds must be located in and serving Collin County)
  • Elizabeth T. Robinson Fund: Assists children in need and older adults
  • Bertice Carter Speck Fund: Assists disabled, blind, deaf or economically disadvantaged children
  • Jalonick Family Memorial Fund-Breast Cancer: Assists agencies that provide medical care and supportive programs for low-income persons with breast cancer
  • Jalonick Family Memorial Fund-Domestic Violence: Assists children and adult victims of domestic violence
  • Jalonick Family Memorial Fund-Developmentally Disabled: Assists with the education of mentally handicapped and developmentally disabled children, to enable them to lead productive lives.
  • Morris Hartley Morgan, Jr. Fund: Assists low-income children who are suffering from debilitating diseases such as diabetes or cancer
  • Lucile W. and George R. Pattullo Fund: To assist African American citizens
  • Louis B. and Mary Ratliff Fund for Animal Welfare Fund: Promotes the health and welfare of companion animals, including prevention of cruelty to animals; provision of veterinary care to animals whose owners cannot otherwise pay for their care; funding of spay and neuter programs; support of feral cat protection projects; creation and operation of sanctuaries for companion animals; promotion of responsible pet ownership; support of animal shelters; and promotion of the adoption of stray and unwanted animals
  • Betty Pope Fund: To assist animals
  • Erin Wylie Fund: Promotes animal welfare and wildlife conservation and protection
  • James D. Webb Fund: For the research and cure of Parkinson's disease

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for a grant, an organization must be a tax-exempt, nonprofit agency that serves a variety of charitable purposes. All Dallas Foundation competitively awarded grants go to agencies that serve Dallas County, unless otherwise noted.

Field of Interest funds are generally not available for:
- Organizations that have received grants from Field of Interest funds or Community Impact funds within the preceding three years
- Multi-year grants
- Annual Fund campaigns, underwriting of fundraising events, and marketing campaigns
- Religious purposes (although the Foundation does support educational and social service programs offered by faith-based -organizations)
- Programs or services that do not serve Dallas County residents, unless otherwise noted
- Debt retirement
- Research
- Endowments
- Individuals
- Start-up organizations

Pre-Application Information:

You may submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) for the fund that best fits your organization's focus areas. Letters of Inquiry may be submitted between January 2 and January 20.
